Event Description

The I M P A C T Honors Banquet has quickly become the preeminent Black-tie event in Cookeville.  Designed to be a city-wide celebration of Black History Month, the I M P A C T Honors banquet pays tribute to those exceptional African-American pioneers, trail-blazers and history makers that have made an indelible impact in this community and beyond.  The event brings together a wide swath of the community for a night of unity, purpose, music and laughter.

If you thought the prior banquets were great, the 2016 I M P A C T Honors Banquet promises to be the best event yet!  We have an outstanding 2016 Honoree Class!  They include the late Reverend LeRoy Jackson, founder of Trinity Baptist Church and first African-American Entrepreneur in Cookeville, The Honorable Mayor of Livingston, Mr. William “Curtis” Hayes, and former NBA scout, Mr. Bob “Dr. Doom” Dawson.

Once again, the incomparable and extremely funny, Dr. Perryn Rice will serve as Master of Ceremonies, all the way from Dallas, TX.  We are also excited to announce that this year’s musical entertainment will be from National Recording Artist, and lead singer of the Dove Award Recipient and Grammy Nominated Gospel group “Virtue”, Ms. Karima Kibble!

The event will take place on February 28, 2016 at the Leslie Town Center with a mixer and silent auction featuring the work of former I M P A C T Honoree, Mr. Marc Burnett, beginning at 5:00pm following with program to begin at 5:30pm.   After the official program, the night will culminate with a celebration in dance.  Don’t miss what promises to be an Historic and memorable evening.
